I was thrilled to see this costume contest to win $25,000 hosted by hubworld.com/Halloween. I read the official rules because it wasn’t clear on how the winner was selected. I was shocked to see that once you submit your costume idea ALL the intellectual property rights become theirs. (usually the photos become theirs, okay not sweat BUT) This means that if you create a truly fab character like Super potty Girl, you no longer have the rights to it. So if they make a movie/cartoon/ comic books, merchandise your idea you get none of the profits. You might not even win the 25K either, so you’d be out cold. While this isn’t strictly illegal it is very bad business practice. Do not enter this contest.
